Last night I saw a Honda Civic that was parked next to my car that had Alberta,Canada plates on it. What really caught my attention was that this car was a Civic but was labeled as an Acura CXS. Is the Civic that is sold in the United Staes sold as an Acura CSX in Canada ? I know that some cars are sold in Europe do that like some of the Ford models one sees in the U.K. But I am surprised to see that Honda does this in Canada. It was the same current model of the Civic.

Yes. I've seen the previous model of the Civic as a Canadian Acura too, I think it was called the EL.

It's their version of the Civic, but with paddle shifters. They should have at least put the SI engine in there.

Yes - most Acuras are simply rebadged Hondas, but Honda stopped selling the Civic-based Acura in the US when the Si out-powered it for less money. The CSX is basically a Civic with leather and Nav.

If you mean the old Integra, they effectively replaced it with the RSX (which was a Civic Si with a nicer body and more power) and TSX (Euro Accord).

I actually believe the RSX Type S and Civic Si made the same amount of power just measured differently. The RSX was a lot more attractive and I wish Acura didn't dump it from the product line.

CSX is the replacement of the EL, which was also Civic based. They're both assembled in Canada, so it's not that much of a challenge. No demand in the US, so they aren't sent there.

Acura

Acura
Thanks for clearing that up, I wasn't sure what a CSX was. I own a TSX with 62,000 miles and love it. But... I can't figure out what Acura designers are thinking with the new TL and RDX, I don't know maybe it is the front grill?

OP- I would go with the Civic, seems like the same car, different emblems.

I'd go with the Civic Si because it has an LSD transmission. The comparable RSX didn't.

LSD isn't a type of transmission, it's a limited-slip differential. The 2006- Si does indeed have an LSD, but the 2002-2005 model did not.
