This is one of the happiest days of my life! You can guarantee ill be hitting up the auctions in a few years, or looking for any other way to get my hands on one!!!
Big gas guzzling domestic tank. Yay.
GM could have at least made it attractive. It's boring looking but what's new. They will never make another 1996 Impala SS. That was one sweet tank!

it's only going to be sold as a cop car so boring works for it I don't think cop cars need to have 20 inch wheels massive hood scoops and racing strips

This makes far more horsepower, will probably get better fuel economy, and will likely outhandle the '96 Impala SS. The SS was a great car in its own right, but car technology has advanced in 15 years.
Yeah, thats whats wrong with GM now... they got rid of all of the good big cars.

Personal opinions. I think its nice that a big sedan is being offered again. I am only upset that its not offered to the public as a civilian car. GM does it again - stiffs the customers with cars they want, but wont sell them here... they are teasers. They sold the Pontiac G8 here, which is the same car on a shorter wheelbase, now that Pontiac is going out, why not simply make the Caprice on that assembly line? Whoever is at the helm at GM that makes these decisions needs to think hard about this.
Just think... If they were to move the shift or go to a push button shifter. Think 60s Chrysler or Alison transmissions, they could create more room in the center console for radios, siren heads and have a better laptop mounting location. That is one think I care not for on the Charger, Ford seems to have it right in the crown vic.
A 6.2 like the Camaro might be nice for highway pursuit vehicle... Still 355 ponies 384 ft/pounds torque should be ample, along with a traction control system.
Police versions of the Chargers have column shifters. That floor shifter on the Caprice will have to go.
nice the inner blues brother in me always wanted to buy a used cop car
