How many of you want to drive a vehicle where someone else both knows where you are and can change your vehicle's behavior?
This particular incident is admittedly fun to read about (it's always good to catch criminals). But I don't want a car company, or a civil servant to have that much control over my vehicles. Or a hacker.

Indeed.
OTOH, we missed some good potential footage on some future episode of "World's Greatest Car Chases" or "World's Dumbest Criminals" shows.

About 10 or 15 years ago, a signal from a NASA or DoD system did something to a bunch of Cadillacs. Locked or unlocked all the doors, something like that.
I forget the specifics, perhaps some codes got changed after that.

I think that all east European refugees can agree that central planning really is best!
I certainly hope the trucks don't get shut down at highway speeds.
