I can't imagine what year saturn you owned, but for the last few years, just like every car maker, they are the same as a chevrolet your expectations are possibly skewing your views on the matter as you clearly expected more from the saturn but didnt get it

I find it sorta odd that now we see the commercials saying that the new GM cars are now proven to be as dependable as the cars from Japan.and built just a good if not better. ..Just months ago it seems that they had plenty of complaints and were known for poor service and value.. NOW all of this which has went on for many years has suddenly changed? I think its more sales hype that anything else and I have to see it for myself..

Notice now that GM is "Govt' Motors" their ads are taking on the flavor of political campaign ads, have to bash the other guy instead of just standing on your own merits.
I agree, they are like political ads and assume you don't read the fine print.

List what you have owned, years, and if you bought it new or used.

here's how it breaks down in my experience
ill pick the best of both... i have owned domestic and imports
1988 jeep XJ, i was the 3rd owner, it had 112k on it, i sold it to a friend with 158k, i got it back when he joined the marines with near 200k on it, sold it again 3 months later with over 200k

1987 turbo 4runner, 118k when i got it, sold at 135k after VERY hard use, 12psi of boost (stock was 6), and repeated water fordings with water over the hood, it broke the timing chain at 181k and the guy i sold it to, still owned it

they both were great vehicles, but that's the best import ive owned, i had a 92 accord that was a MINT car, but troubles abound
i had an 86 chevy k10 with over 280k when i got it, and owned it almost 2 years, got 6mpg and would drag your house off it's foundation, rolled the odo to 20k again when i sold it... it's still on the road, i see it around, that was 5 years ago

i guess chevrolets are crap though..

It's the age old typical domestic advertisement appealing to the domestic die hards. I have noticed that the new Chevrolets are very flimsy. The interior plastic is thin and seems cheap. The metal is also very thin. Look a new Impala or Malibu and really look at how poor the panels are built. It's a marketing tactic to appeal to those who still believe in dumping money into these bulky machines just so they can say "I buy American."

Thats funny, Chevrolets redesigned interior is one thing almost all reviewers seem to rave over. I know it's not as nice as those of Toyota and Honda .
