If you're looking for a fuel pump in a junked car that isn't wrecked, it might be in the junk yard because the fuel pump is bad. And remember, if the pump is in the tank, you'll be dropping two tanks, not an easy job. I had to replace my pump in my Honda that does not have an access panel. Dropping the tank is a P.I.T.A.

The problem I have with ebay these days is that even if you are looking for name brand/OEM stuff, you'll often GET cheap chinese knockoffs in counterfeit packaging. I used to get good deals on OEM parts there, but then the clones started showing up and you couldn't tell by looking at the auction if it was legit or not. There's still good deals to be had on used parts, but they are few and far between anymore.
True even at local auto parts store or Amazon. One has to dig deep if item is a real OEM part or an OEM compatible part. Then look at the brand. Napa for example sells a lot of cheap China junk. Packaged in a nice Napa box. Some parts on ebay and Amazon have no brand label at all.
