-pretty heavy person
-likes to travel often

Lincoln Town Car, Honda Element, or Lexus RX?

I am really having a hard time choosing...

Lincoln Town Car for sure or even a pick-up truck like an F150 cause he could get a canopy and when the dog is dirty he can put it in the back and keep the interior clean and if he does alot of traveling a diesel truck would get good MPG's on the freeway plus in chicago I am assuming you guys get alot of snow so a 4x4 would be great to have in winter.

I'll go with the Honda Element assuming you have a larger dog.

Nah, not really a lot of snow in my opinion...but ice is an issue.

A Basset Hound is not considered large so...yeah, an F150 or a Tacoma would be nice...but I'm not sure how I'd fit that in the garage...

Okay, so for traveling I'd be fine with the Element? Like driving to MS and MN often? I wonder how that would go. I'm experienced with a Town Car/Grand Marquis, so I know how great they are for traveling...but not with a dog.

Oh, I also considered the Mercury Sable and the Mercedes Benz M Class trucks...

I appreciate the help...looking forward to more responses

I don't think a Tacoma would be longer than a lincoln town car or much taller than a Mercedes Benz M Class truck

Ahhh, yes, it's been over a year. I finally made my mind up - I wanted a Buick Lucerne, and then I heard the rumors it was being discontinued. =(

Looks like Ford is the runner up. Or maybe a nice used Cadillac DTS

The Lincoln would be really comfortable, the Element would be very reliable, and the Lexus would be very expensive to repair. Have you thought of looking into a Honda CRV, or the Ford Escape? Both are roomie but small enough to park in Chicagoland and both very reliable, the CRV more reliable but both are great. Just a suggestion.
