So my husband and I are looking for a full size SUV to buy next spring and we are a little lost! Our 3 choices are the Lincoln Navigator, Yukon XL, and Toyota Sequioa. Thoughts on any of these and advice would be EXTREMELY helpful!!!
You don't give a lot of info as to exactly what you need - 4wd - number of seats - towing - luxury - etc.
You'll find that Toyota has better resale values (and their long term maintenance issues are fewer). Don't forget the Toyota Land Cruiser if it is in your budget.
We want 4wd with captains chairs in the second row and a three seats in the third row. The reasons I like the Naivgator and the Yukon Denali are based on what you get for the money. BUT that being said, I have never owned a GMC or Lincoln so when it comes to reliability and dependability I'm not sure where they stand in comparison to Toyota. The problem with the Sequoia for me is the way it looks. I don't like the new model so I'm trying to find something else and these were the other two that I like. No one has said Lincoln, is there a reason for that?
Take it from someone who owned one: Full size GM SUV's cannot be beat. Toyota has nothing on the value & reliability of a Suburban/Yukon. Go with the Yukon XL!!!
The big SUVs are the only segment where the Americans are still the King...
So,Lincoln Navigator is a lux edition of Expedition, probably the best SUV today...
I would prefer the Expedition XL.true 6-7 passenger,8 big suitcases...
Space,space,space...
Sequoia is OK,but without ther glamour of Navigator or Expedition...
In the end,the final criterion is ...chemistry...Which one do u feel as the most cosy...?
Follow your heart !
Can't go wrong with a Yukon or Suburban... The Escalades are nice but they are very pricey.
Since all three GM's are built on the same SUBURBAN platform why not look at the Suburban line first. All the Yukon & Escalade have is more do-dads and other stuff to break or run the price up.
We bought a '93 Suburban right off the car carrier after looking at GMC (there were no Escalade's in '93). We like that '93 vehicle so much that we plan to keep until 2013 or longer. It rides like a limo on trips and gets really decent MPG for as big as it is (16/20). Now if you wanna spend money on a fancy dressed "suburban" with a different name tag go ahead. However, you'll get more bang for the buck and 100% of the comfort in a Chevy Suburban.
