Mine came on the car, and I often turn them on, simply because I figure it's something else to make me stand out -- less chance of somebody not seeing me, maybe, and pulling out into my lane or something. They're not obnoxious, just set into the lower part of the front bumper.

Around here the streetlights are few and the lane markings are sometimes hard to see. I turn on the fogs to help see the lane markings better.

I don't have fog lights but I always drive with my headlights on-day or night. My car is dark blue and is difficult to see, especially in shadowy areas or at dusk. I want to be sure other drivers see me.

I notice that people who drive German cars that have rear foglights (looks like one red taillight is much brighter than the other) usually have them on during good weather, probably by accident as if they don't even know the light exists.

I too use them to help me to see the lines/markings on the roads. They're low to the ground and don't shine in the eyes of oncoming traffic.
And again, like other posters have typed, what bothers me is the jacked up trucks/SUV's with their headlights in my rear vew mirrors.

I don't care what my car looks like so the "look at me" thought is not a factor for me.

i live where not much fog happens. so it just looks cooler

no. actually the foglights on my car drench the area right out in front of the bumper with white light that increases immediate visibility in front of my vehicle

it hard not to in a lifted truck I don`t do it on purpose and I have regular light not the super bright ones that blind everyone I have a set of pia fog lamps but those are for off road use they are really bright but if people drive with massive for lamps on all the time I could see it being bad

I drive with all available lights on all the time so that YOU can not say "I didn't SEE him!"
It is for MY safety!

I have noticed some newer Dodge Ram and GM Pickups have VERY bright fog/driving lights. The look like airplane landing lights. They look brighter than the regular head lights and pointing more "up". I bet they are useless in fog. They would reflect back like high beams in fog. The best real fog lights are mounted low, have a wide field and are YELLOW.
