Right now on my 05 Murano it's been 6500 overdue and my 08 Camry 3800 overdue. This has been the longest I've been without changing the oil which by the way is because of lack of time to do it and it's too freaking cold out there.
Back when I had my TL years ago my younger brother that was also a mechanic would put synthetic in my car and tell me not to come back until about 10,500 miles and I believed him the whole time I had the car and followed that and never had a problem!

What is the big deal about taking them in to get the oil changed? Cold or not, you are literally destroying your vehicles.

True, I guess I will have to make some time and get this done asap. Both cars are starting to smell really bad (burnt oil and gas). I hate paying for something I can do myself.
A friend recently told me that his grandfather used to buy a new car every 18-24 months. The guy would put 15,000 - 20,000 miles on the car, then trade it off.
But he never changed the oil in any of his new cars. Ever.

Reminds me of the old commercial with the mechanic saying "You can pay me now, or you can pay me later."

WOW, LVD . . . we agree on this one!
Why would anyone risk a major engine problem in lieu of a simple $30 to $60 Oil Service? Being too busy or too cold is not good enough when the "health" of my vehicles is concerned.
My goal is 2500 miles and I never go beyond 3000 miles.
