XK 140 jag, but that wasn't pre war, it was 1947 vintage, so post war. Best chick bait car ever made.
1939 Ford in 1958. Starter was a pedal on the floor you stepped on. Shift lever was on the floor. If memory serves me correctly it had a flat head V-8 engine.
I've driven many, though I haven't actually owned any. I used to work for a vintage car restoration shop, so got to work on and drive a lot of cars that were brass era through WWII, then I had a street rod shop where I built a number of pre-WWII hot rods.
