Haha my dad and I joked about charging people to look at cars we're selling.

Well, when you have a 17,000 sq ft garage with dozens (hundreds?) of cars spanning over 100 years of auto production, including some very rare and unique collectibles...

then I guess you could.

This is for charity folks, I think it is laudable. I can't afford it but someone will and Leno's charity of choice will benefit.

I just don't understand the negative feelings for this, jealousy maybe?

Well I understand its for charity and that's fine but I can go to pretty much any car show in the country for free and view the same amount of cars.

That's fine...

you do that. You can see the same amount and keep your money for yourself.

Have you even seen what Leno has in that garage?

And my point was that there seemed to be a lot of negativity about the concept (not necessarily from you), and I just don't get that.

There's no place on Earth that has a collection like Leno's. It's truly amazing. They had a clip of it on Top Gear recently.

I think it's cool of him to do it. No one makes these guys do this stuff. He could just as easily sit at home and count his millions. Good on him for volunteering something unique for a good cause. I hope some other wealthy person bids a ridiculous sum of money for it.

Wouldn't the charity get more donations if this was plugged and aired on his show?

I don't want to get into the whole concept of giving to others in need but why not just sell a car or two of his OR why didn't he just use the money for a charity in the first place instead of buying and restoring these rare cars.

Why aren't you spending your time in a soup kitchen instead of posting here?
