I like the new Ford models coming out especially the Fiesta and the Fusion. When is the new Fiesta coming out in the US? If I'm not mistaken, it's the twin car to the new Mazda 2, right?
No, it's not bigotry at all. It has more to do with wanting to see your country doing well.
Another example: If I support American athletes in the Olympics, does that mean I'm "bigoted" against athletes from other countries? No.
There's nothing wrong with supporting your country, and rooting for the home team.
Oh, the irony! So basically you're lauding Europeans for being more open-minded than you are? Because, if they were 'rooting for the home team' as you were, then they probably wouldn't be buying a Ford?

Not at all. If Europeans want to buy cars from American manufacturers, good for them. This has nothing to do with how "open-minded" I am. I just like to see U.S.-based companies do well. Why is that such a problem for some people?
Did either of you know that the Fiesta is a European Ford?
It's now a global car, essentially. As was described in the Washington Post today:
Quote:
Car companies can no longer afford to develop one kind of vehicle for Europe, another for Asia and another for North America. Through rapid advances in technology and electronic communications, they've now made their once-delusional talk of "global cars" and "global platforms" everyday reality.
That development has been accompanied by the collapse of false corporate dichotomies, such as "GM of Europe" and "Ford/North America." There is now one GM and one Ford.

Global, key word.
It was still developed in Europe.
I see that as a good thing, as the domestics have not done real well with small car design.
