Who gives a flaming blue crap if people can't fold a map anymore? Every single time anyone brings up the topic of GPS, there's always some pious Luddite popping in to tell us all how GPS units are destroying civilization as we know it, whether it has anything to do with the actual topic of the thread or not. It's getting really, really old.
I never said "don't use gps", what I did say is that they are numbing the minds of the masses. Maybe not for everyone but for most. Pretty sad when people can't find their way around a 30 mile radius after living there for 20 years, I see it all the time. People have no clue how to get anywhere because they use their gps like crack.
1. You're driving home from work through your own neighborhood down the same streets you drive everyday but you have your GPS on anyway because you like the pretty colors and you can't seem to take your eyes off of it.
2. A small child chases a ball into the street and you hit them, killing them.
3. Dad comes out with his gun and blows your brains out.
gps solution? throw it away and learn where you are and how to read a map. Seriously, gps is in my opinion a distraction from driving and really allows people to never learn where they are , where they are going, or how to get out of where they are. I have people ask my address sometimes and I give them driving directions. They want to put it into their gps, and i don't give it to them. why? because why should i give out all my info for someone who's lost?

And for anyone old enough to remember those damn maps were impossible to fold. The inability has nothing to do with GPS.
