Jeez, Linson, thanks, I really needed that, lol. Hey you know though, I am looking to possibly trade in for a new car. Since my wife got the SUV, I don't exactly need a big car. I was thinking one of those new Cadillac STS-Vs, but they only come in Black, Black, Black, and Dark Grey. What I could try is one of those new XLR-Vs, but then we're talking over a $100g. Ahh, what the heck, goodness knows I'll be driving the Audi for the next 6 years no matter what I say. Just for kicks, what do you all think about the two mentioned Cadillacs? Yay or nay?

The Cadillac STS is a big car, I think it may be even bigger than the DTS. The STS to me looks like an overstretched CTS and for the price, there are MUCH beter cars out there.

The XLR is nice but not worth $80K. The XLR-V is basically an XLR with a bigger engine but that bigger engine adds about $30K MORE to an already overpriced vehicle. I'd rather have a BMW 6 Series...

An STS "big?" Those are only 197.6" long (16.46 feet). My compact '66 Dodge Dart GT was 196.3" long (16.35 feet).

Here are some BIG Cadillacs.
From back to front:
'66 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (227.5"/18.95 feet)
'76 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance (233.7"/19.47 feet)
'76 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine (252.2"/21 feet)

Like a lot of you folks I like high performance cars. Fortunate for me I am a driving Instructor for a few High Performance driving schools and I get to drive other peoples high performance cars prior to instructing them.
I have driven just about any high performance car you can think of and some of them at a prettty good clip on the racetrack.

From memory I have driven Zo6 Corvettes, Vintage Mustangs and Corvettes, late model Mustangs, BMW M-3's, Porsche 911's, Shelby Cobras, and just this past week I got to drive an old restored Lotus Elan (I am guessing from the 60's) I have even driven a Vintage Camaro Trans Am racer (no not a Pontiac) a real racecar.

I am not much into looking at cars as I am into driving them. Not to bad a deal for a 60+ year old retiree.

I know the Cadillacs I mentioned are big cars, I mean, c'mon, they're Cadillacs. But I was just considering something with some kick, at least more than my A8 anyways.

I don't see why anyone would need a Sedan with a lot of "kick". I mean a sports car is one thing but a sedan is another. I'm guessing you'll be using this vehicle for commuting? If you do buy one of those Cadillac's, just get the base model and pass on the "V". You don't get your money's worth out of it.

See, that's the thing, I take Metro North now, so it's really just a weekend/evenings car. I just want something a little more exciting than what I've got.

Don't get me wrong, the Audi is great for long trips and such, but it really doesn't pull the way I'd like. I guess I could look at the W12 models, but then I'm going into uncharted territory on price. And I feel like if I just got the base model STS I'd be sacrificing interior amenities for no more under the hood.

Also, you can't say that there isn't anyone looking for sedans with serious power because if that was true, there would be absolutely no market for the aforementioned cars, any M-series BMWs, or S-Class MB sedans. I'm really just one of probably many people, who want a good sized luxury sports sedan.

It was an informal get-together of some Cadillac enthusiasts. Nice to see a bunch of classic Cadillacs in one place.

The owner of the middle Cad in the photo (the '76 Fleetwood) also owns a '67 DeVille convertible. As is true of you, he likes it a lot, too.
