Any information on if this new terminal will be connected to the other two airside? IMO this is the biggest pain when it comes to flying through EWR, especially when United dumps me at a B gate.

As of now, no. Which I agree is a huge pain. It is also going to be a pain for flight crews that have to swap aircraft from a C gate to an A gate. They can have as little as 45 min between flights, and that is assuming everything is on time.

Since it says that United will take up the bulk of the operations at the new Terminal, why do you expect your flights to dump you at a B gate?
At any rate, the new EWR Airtrain Replacement will likely connect all the terminals.

United parks some international arrivals at the B gates. It happened last time I connected inbound through EWR. IIRC there is a shuttle bus that goes C > A and occasionally stops at B but that doesn't help for international arrivals.

Key word being airside. IIRC, Dulles, Houston, Denver and SFO have airside transit between the terminals.

I remember once being on an airside transit bus at JFK. At the time I thought it was just due to a gate issue of that particular airline (which I think was Delta). Haven't ever had this issue at EWR.
We could have had modern terminals and airports a long time ago if the local governments would have allowed more privatization. U.S. airports, for the most part, are publicly owned and operated by either a city, a county, a state or in some cases, a public authority. The feds micromanage airports, fees, etc...
The US currently needs well over $100B to bring airports up to standards.
