I am new to this forum and am moving next week to St. Charles at Olde Court apts. on Brookford Place. I am going to be working in downtown Baltimore. How/what are my options as far as public transportation? When I was down there before, the area seemed safe, but if anyone knows of this area or apt. complex, please let me know.

Thanks!

Taking the Metro would be the quickest way: http://mta.maryland.gov/services/subway/schedule/MetroMap309.pdf (broken link)

Default pikesville transit

So, I would get on at Old Court, and then get off, I guess since I'm new to the area, at Lexington Market, or would it be State Center? I have to go the 708 N. Calvert St.?

Just so you know, this area is known as Mount Vernon. "Downtown" is a little south of here.

I would use the State Center stop. It's a .7 mile walk from State Center to this address. The area is decent. If you're a cyclist, you're permitted to bring a bike on Metro - that would make it a quick connection.

You could also get off the Metro at the Charles Center station downtown and walk straight up Calvert St. Your address would be about 7 blocks due north.

True. If you used the Charles Center stop and walked up Charles St, you could hop on any bus passing by to quicken your trip. 3, 11, 61, 64 or the Charm City Circulator to the Washington Monument and get off, make a right, go two blocks to Calvert.
