I am a student located in Bolton Hill. I just landed an Internship in Towson Town Center and am trying to figure out what the best route to travel is. Time is always restricted, and most public transit, or biking, says that it will take at least an hour. This baffles me because it is only a twenty minute car ride at most.

I've looked into the Collegetown Shuttle, biking, and even taking the light rail to Mt. Washington and than biking my way from there. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the best way would be to travel? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say take MTA #11 and a decent sci-fi novel; or MTA Lightrail to Lutherville and #8 to Towson; again with a good book or newspaper.

Default Bike portions of your route

Be aware that it is uphill, significantly so, from where you live in Bolton Hill to Towson Town Center. Light rail to Mt. Washington and then biking from there might be an option, and certainly get you past the congestion closer to downtown. From Mt. Washington, you would ride over towards Falls Rd., and then take it north towards Lake Ave. and then take a right and climb the grade until you get to No. Charles which is a reasonable straight shot towards Townson. Or you could stay on Falls Rd., take it to Ruxton Rd., take a right until it hits Bellona, and then take a left on Bellona and take it all along the base of the hill (it heads north, and then curves to the east where it crosses over No. Charles) at which point you're in Towson. Biking from downtown to where I live in No. Baltimore takes me about 35 minutes - going further to Towson would be at least another 20 minutes - so budget accordingly, and consider the light conditions etc. on your return.

It really is. I take it all the time, the only reason I didn't mention it is because people get apprehensive about walking over to Greenmount, but if you can overcome that fear (misplaced or not) then #48 is a great option out to Towson.
