I work at Arundel Mills Bass Pro and I'm not sure I understand those who say a large amount of employees are euro trash. There are Hispanic and African American employees but I can't think f any eastern European workers. Bass Pro is being sued by the Obamma Justice Department for not hiring enough blacks and Hispanics. Take that for what it is worth, considering it is comming from our socialist government. As for those out in the malls harassing everyone who walks near them, go thank our liberal Governor and the lapdog General Assembly in this one party state. You should be more concerned about the muggings, robberies, and murders (yes, I said murders) committed on Arundel Mills property.

I don't see any option for getting away from it. Its in most malls. Granted it seemed particularly bad at AM last time I was there, but still, its everywhere. Either that, or girls who want to sell you clip on extensions.

They don't bother me at all, but that's because make myself pretty unapproachable. Their whole game is that they just give you a friendly greeting, and any polite response is enough for them to start talking your ear off. At this point, I have no issues about responding to "Hi, excuse me sir" with a curt "not interested" and walking right on past.

Default I Doubt the Intelligence and Worldliness of Some Posters Here

I have a kiosk at one of the East Coast malls with my Israeli husband. The products sold at the Israeli kiosks, for the most part, are high quality and offered at much more affordable prices than products of similar quality that are more widely advertised and placed at mainline stores. These products generally are "demonstration" products, which means they have to work or you won't buy them. The corollary to this is that customers must love the products and return to buy more, because the kiosks do not advertise to thousands of new customers per day via television or print ads. Without excellent products, kiosks would not be viable and would have disappeared years ago.

I'm assuming that the person who accused us of being and selling trash a) has never tried the products and b) is not aware that he/she probably has bought major trash from big companies that put more of their money into advertising and manipulating consumers to buy based upon unsubstantiated claims than actually producing a product that works. Kudos to you for being duped by large corporations and not supporting small business.

Default Don't worry; I doubt that in a lot of people. Their sanity, too.

Good grief, by all means we should limit employment in the United States to its native population only. Those of you who can't prove 100% Native American tribal lineage, no jobs for you!

(Don't worry, I'll be right behind the rest of you in the unemployment line, wondering why on earth my European ancestors bothered to cross the Atlantic.)

Can big-box retailers really hire those with H1B visas???? That seems completely irresponsible.
Its better than hiring illegal immigrants which big companies are also known to do!

I believe Arundel Mills is owned bythe same company that owns a mall in Charlotte that was the source of controversy a few years back. They had banned an American-owned kiosk from the mall because a customer, a transplant to North Carolina, complained that he sold anti-Obama shirts and Confederate flags (keep in mind this is North Carolina and that even Maryland is south of the Mason Dixon Line.)

Arundel Mills mall is a mess. Its the worst idea to build a casino there. They shold build the casino in downtwon Baltimore on the waterfront on a ship instead. The traffic is ridiculous and parking is impossible to find especially around Dave and Busters and the movie theaters. I can't imagine what it will be like after the casino opens and brings in more crowds. White Marsh is the best mall around here, followed by Towson. Arundel Mills also has a large ghetto elements that goes there from both Baltimore City and PG County and recently there was a shooting where someone was killed, involving gangstas from PGC. Honestly some Europeans working there is the least of my concerns as long as they don't overstay their visas. Arundel Mills is the most ghetto mall I've been to in Maryland aside from Mondawmin Mall, Security Square, Wheaton Plaza, and Lakeforest, keeping in mind the last two were not always ghetto, but have become so in the past 10 years due to the ghetto exodus from DC and because of illegal immigrants.

Now about the European workers, if its in the summertime like some people here said its most likely seasonal people on work visas. They have some programs where young people can work in the U.S. for a summer and travel in America afterward. I actually have two friends from the Czech Republic whom I met cause they were living and working in my neighborhood last summer at the pool. It was the first time I'd been to a pool with foreign lifeguards. Our apartment complex participates in these exchange programs because they get to make money off their rent for 3 months compared to them hiring local college kids which they used to do ( i suspect the same apartment complex hires illegal Mexicans for landscapping and cleaning but thats a whole different story.) Also they have more availability compared to American kids who go on vacation part of the summer and many colleges start early now, I think thats also the thing with Ocean City. I've actually encountered these Europeans in other random places like Moab, Utah and Amarillo, Texas.

My Czech friends got to visit lovely Baltimore City but I and some of my friends also showed them the local scene around Dundalk and Sparrows Point. Trust me if you've been to Howard Pub on Holabird Avenue on a night with the DJ spining all country music that is probably the most authentic all-American experience you can get. Well, aside from Amarillo, Texas that is!

Default We Actual Like the Mall

Funny, when my kids have a day off of school they yell 'Let's go to Arundel mills mall!!!' (they're 5 and 7). They ride the train, do the water balloon things in the food court, a 3 minute 3D ride over by the Medieval Times and then fishing and shooting at Bass pro shop. If we want to spend the whole day we have lunch, take in a movie, play at the lego store, and wander through the Medieval times shop (they're not 'open' so we can't buy anything). It's not a free day, but it's always a good day.
My kids never ask to go to the Columbia Mall - there's nothing to do...
