You are right. You are not sure what I'm talking about.

For the size of our city, we have a great food scene. I'm in R&D @ McCormick and we have to keep up on what is happening in restaurants around the globe. We have no problem doing so here. The only thing we are lacking is the authentic Ethnic that NYC and DC has. Luckily, they are a short train ride away. There is constantly a list of about 5-10 restaurants in the city that I want to try, so I've never found Baltimore a boring Culinary town.

I recently moved to around Highlandtown, and although I guess it's not indicative of the presence of a "food scene", I can think of about 5 places within almost a mile radius that I'm pretty sure were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives:

-Matthew's Pizza
-DiPasquale's
-G&A
-Chap's Pit Beef
-Broadway Diner

Now I haven't been to all of them yet (DiPasquale's was good but wasn't too impressed with Matthew's) to decide what I think of them, but just the fact that they all made it on that show has to mean something.

The crabcake, Maryland crab soup! Nowhere does them as well as Maryland! Althought there is something to be said for Cream of Crab, or "She-crab soup" as it is called farther south. That is yummy too.

Getting up at 4am to go crabbing on the Wye River is one of my FAVORITE summer activities! So much fun. And it's so great to bring home a brimming bushel of crabs that you caught yourself.

Matthews was never on DDD but the other four were. However, Chaps is nothing special, neither is Broadway Diner.

Matthews and DiPasquale's are both unique and real good though.

Yeah I prefer to eat food that I can pronounce.

I know you said earlier that you were looking for something that Baltimore does better than anywhere else...regardless of where the crabs come from, isn't that still crabcakes?

Bawlmer clearly hates where he lives. Why he is here I have no idea.

It is rather perplexing. He seems to get great pleasure in trashing the city from which he derived his screenname.
