Hi, I am moving to Waldorf MD (Carrington) is there any easy way to get public transportation to Baltimore from there? I am not looking forward to a 55 to 60 mile drive every day.

I also would appreciate any input about the Carrington area.

Thanks

I'm familiar with Carrington. What street are you moving on (or if you're not comfortable saying, maybe name some of the streets near you?) Some of the streets are quiet but have spillover incidents from the dicier areas. Have you committed to living in that area?

I have a place in mind on Garner Ave. I am from Baltimore County that is why I am wondering about the area. It looks nice whenever we drive through.

Yes, I know Garner Ave. Those are nice houses in that area and have a real neighborly feel. However, I personally wouldn't buy a house in that area -- maybe rent, to see what it's like first. It's just that close to it, there are not so nice neighbors (the townhouses in Carrington). That being said, Waldorf is famous for pockets of nice neighborhoods, good neighbors, quiet safe, and go another 2 or 3 blocks and it's bedlam! I like that area when I'm riding through, but just how safe it truly is, is questionable. It's kind of hard to get a feel for a Waldorf neighborhoods unless you spend some time there. Most of the single family home areas (except Bannister) appear quiet all the time, but they have their problems. There has been one murder in all of Charles County so far this year, and that was in Waldorf (Bannister area).

It still doesn't sound terrible though. Being from Baltimore County; I have experienced both the good and bad.
