Strangely, I'm at a loss trying to think of an appropriate restaurant to host about 30 people for a rehearsal dinner.

There are a great many small restaurants in Baltimore but not many big ones come to mind (if only Haussner's were still open this wouldn't be a problem).

Any ideas? Lots of out-of-towners will be here so I'd like to show them something unique to Baltimore or MD. Hoping to stay close to Mt Vernon, where most people will be staying.

I've seen large groups at The Helmand. It's right in Mt. Vernon and is a great place for out of towners to experience.

Cool, I didn't even think about that. Anyone have any experience with groups at Brewer's Art or the Owl Bar?

I would choose Brewer's Art over the Owl Bar. I was with a group of 14 at Owl Bar a few months ago and they seemed to be a little uneven.

Sherries Showbar on Pulaski Hwy. "One of Baltimore's premier clubs."

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I like the food better at Brewer's, too.

We've had events in the upstairs of both Red Star and Waterfront Hotel in Fells Point. Both good experiences. Also check out the Baltimore/Washington discussion section of chowhound.com, and search the archives. Its the place to go for food questions.

Thanks. I forgot to mention that it has to be handicap accessible. I like the WTF but I think it's just a staircase up to the 2nd floor. Also places like Ryleigh's Oyster, too.

I'll check out Red Star. I've never been.
