Hello All!

My boyfriend and I are considering moving into Roland Park because it is such a beautiful & safe area. However, one perk of being near the city I would think would be the ability to cab into Canton/Inner Harbor/Camden Yards, etc. However, when I use Google Maps and search public transportation options, it says the trip takes an hour?! I don't see how that could be seeing as I currently work at Hopkins and I am able to get to Roland Park from there in about 20 mins.

Do people use public transportation to get to the city fun stuff from Roland Park? And if so, what ways do people take?

Thank you!

University or hospital? From Roland Park I imagine people drive.

Not many folks walk out of their Roland mansions and go wait at the MTA stop. Although, MTA #11 and #61 will get you to the Inner Harbor from there and it shouldn't take an hour, unless you have a lot of walking included in that amount.

Some people from Roland Park walk over to the Cold Spring Lane light rail station and take the train downtown. A taxi or Uber is your best bet and should take about 15 or 20 minutes to downtown, Federal Hill, or Fells Point.

I have friends that live in Roland Park that sometimes use the light rail to get to downtown/Camden Yards - especially if one can drive the other to the light rail stop. The 61 is a great bus to ride when it runs - which isn't very much. I wouldn't consider transit to be an option in getting to Canton.
