The Toliet Bowl is an annual football game played between Essex and Dundalk. The reason being - The **** Plant is on disputed land between the two - although I have always been told it is technically IN Dundalk since it is on our side of the Back River Bridge. Whoever loses has to say that The **** Plant is officially in their town.

I'm sorry, but if you're moving from just about any part of Montgomery County ... to the Trappe Road and North Point Rd intersection in Dundalk ... than I'd certainly say you're going to think it's not such a great area. It's not much different than the Brooklyn area or most of PG County for that matter. It's all about the same IMO.

It's not "bullets flying over your head" bad ... but you will certainly have hookers, drunks, crackheads, and little thugs gangs walking around within blocks of your house at night. The Shopping Mall is well known for having crime and violence problems.

I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone, just based solely on the horrible smell that comes from that sewage treatment plant. I've been by it maybe 200 times ... and I'd say it stunk 199 of the times.

the area you are moving to is Edgemere - 21219, which is much better than Dundalk. The schools are better, most good kids that grew up with me in Dundalk all choose to live in Edgemere. You would be surprised to know many college degreed indiv choose to live there - Dundalk is okay to visit, pass by and stay during the day you will have not problems but I wouldn't be going to a convenience store or bar at 1 am. My family still lives there and has never had any type of crime problems, the thugish kids and other rift raft depends on the neighborhood. Eastpoint Mall is okay during the day, but everyone that lives in the area goes to White Marsh for more than grocery/ convenice shopping.

Sorry, i didnt read all of the posts to see that you are moving to North Point Rd / Trappe Rd. I have family that lives 2 blocks from the intersection and they have no problems with crime of any kind. Alot of thier neighbors are well established families that have owned their homes for years.

I've lived in College Park and Takoma Park and an undergrad at UMCP and thought these areas were much worse than Dundalk.

This is such an ignorant, nonsensical post. What "shopping mall"? There is no shopping mall in Dundalk except for Eastpoint, which is MILES from where she is considering.
