I rode a small section between Windsor Mill and the trail head in Leakin Park.. There was a family gathering over in the Dell and the parking lot on the Hunting Ridge Trail Head was full. It is very peaceful and secluded which may be why some folks may be nervous.. but It was almost like being in the wilds of West Virginia as opposed to the middle of Baltimore. I havent yet taken the more urban leg of the trip south past sections of West Baltimore on down to the middle branch.. thats on my "to do" list though...

Baltimore homicide: Woman's body found along Gwynns Fall Trail - baltimoresun.com

I went ahead and posted this... This is not that uncommon.. Because this area is a vast wilderness adjacent to some rough areas... it occasionally becomes a cemetary for those who do or have done dirty deeds. That being said, not sure what the status is/was of this individual.... Its highly unlikely that they were a jogger or a cyclists.. and more times and not dumped in the park after meeting their demise somewhere else. Still.... its an unfortunate incident to have occurred none the less for both the individual and the park...

The Jones Falls Bikeway is great! You can bike up from Federal Hill to the entrance to the fallsway, at Maryland Ave and it goes right up to Druid Hill Park. I like to take the fallsway up, bike around Druid Hill, and then come back through Reservoir and Bolton Hill.
