Hi There, am relocating to Owing Mills Area with 2 children 11 and 8, what are the best areas to live within a 30 min commute and best schools - looking to spend around $550,000.........Thanks

$550,000 will buy you quite a bit of house in the Baltimore area, so you have plenty of options. I personally think it would be a good idea for you to look for at anything around the Stevenson or Worthington Valley areas.

You could do very well at that amount. There are still a number of great deals on the market as the buyer pool has reduced significantly.

I would tour the North and North West Parts of Baltimore County, Ellicott City (Howard County) area and Westminster (Carroll County) area. Lots of great options, you should see some great places.

Thanks so much for your suggestions - are Stevenson and Worthington suburbs of Baltimore? As well Westminster area looks nice any ideas of what the schools are like?

Westminster is in Carroll County, which has some great schools, a few brand new. North and NW Baltimore County has very good schools as well.
