I'm not much of a baseball fan. I'm going more for the experience.

For around $20 you can get the outfield bleachers, LF upper deck or some of the LF lower deck. Do they check tickets in the lower deck or can I buy the cheapest ticket and find any open seat?

Suggestions?

Camden Yards has ticket checkers at the entry point to each section. So don't expect to buy a cheap seat and end up on the first base line. They be more lax about people moving down in the late innings, but don't quote me on that.

As bad as the O's (always) are, I am surprised they aren't giving the tickets away and hoping to make money just selling overpriced hotdogs and beer.

There are lots of bargains to get tix. Tuesday Bargain nights, Friday night student nights (they are very flexible on the definition of a student). Free ticket during your birthday month. Check out orioles.com, and you should be able to find a cheap ticket.
