Hi all, thanks for taking time to read my post. I'm trying to determine the best route from Old Goucher to 95N. Specifically, I'll be starting on the 2200 block of North Calvert. I'll be leaving Baltimore in the morning. Traffic is my main concern.

Right now, I'm thinking about this route:

25th to Harford Road
Harford Rd to Walther
Walther to Rte 1 to 695 to 95N

How is the traffic on Harford Rd, Walther or Rte. 1 Northbound during morning rush hours?

The wife and I found an awesome deal on a house in the area. There's a lot going for the area for us, personally and professionally. But this Charles Village to Havre de Grace commute has me more than a little apprehensive.

I appreciate any input on this route or other suggestions.

The sooner you get onto I-95 the better.
How best to do that (on any given day) will depend on traffic, weather...
and the phases of the moon.

If you actually work in Havre De Grace...
live there and visit B'more.

A very logical conclusion, MrRational. But my wife works in the area and I am part time at JHU locations south of the city.

MaxGrace.

Walther to 895-N/95-N is also an option. Traffic on Walther is pretty calm (in varying degrees) throughout the day.

I would take Perring Parkway to 695 to 95. It basically runs parallel to Harford Rd. but has a higher speed limit and fewer lights.

You could also take Erdman Ave. or Moravia Rd. to 895 to 95. You'd be driving in the wrong direction for a couple of miles, but you'd avoid the beltway. I'm not sure how bad it is eastbound in the AM.
