I'm currently looking at possibly buying a house in the Middle River area, specifically in the Chase or Village of Pawnee area. Does anyone have any information on these areas? Preferably from people who actually live or lived there. (It seems people who've never set foot somewhere will always have something negative to say from what they hear). I see information on Middle River on here but its from a few years back.

The county will actually give you huge grant money to live in Village of Pawnee, which makes me think there is a catch. But when I look at the houses for sale in the area, they seem very nice and kept up. So I'm wondering if this is a good thing they are giving incentives to get owner occupied buyers to live there to strengthen the community?

I currently live in Joppatowne, which is one neighborhood that I find so many have negative opinions about although they've never even seen the place. I love Joppatowne, it's blue collar but very safe, and the elementary school my daughter attends is one of the best in the county. But Edgewood, which is right next to Joppa, has some very rough parts, which is where Joppa gets its bad rap. From the school ratings I understand the schools are not the best, but I'm looking for something similar as far as the area. I understand Middle River also has its bad parts, but I'm not too worried about that, I just don't want to be living in one.

Any (native) opinions would be greatly appreciated!

There are a number of grants available to purchase homes. Mainly just to spur some home movement but a couple are offering quite a lot of $$. FHA CDA loans offer 5k toward closing costs for qualifying (turn key) properties.

Chase is generally pleasant and safe, especially around Gunpowder... what is the village of pawnee? I'll have to look that one up.... sounds like an apartment complex...
