Since the water pipe broke on light we haven't had consistent AC. Last few nights, we haven't had any at all! Our apartment is reading 80 and climbing.

Its the water pressure, etc. All we've gotten are apologetic emails, etc. Paying a high price for substandard comfort, amenities and service.

Never mind that this heat and lack of AC is disturbing our day to day activities. We can no longer tolerate being in this building. Can't sleep.

If we could afford to break our lease, I'd do it in a heart beat.

I think you can without getting charged legally.

You could also ask for your rent to be prorated or some discount.

The road closures have made getting around town a lot of fun too...

Yeah the road closures have rerouted traffic to one of the roads I take to get to work. It's added at least half an hour to my total commute.

Also, "paying a high price for substandard comfort, amenities and service" seems to sum up most apartments in this city...

Is there a projected timeline for when this work will be complete?

I would request to be put up in a hotel--I'd also check your lease language and consult with an attorney about this kind of situation.

What does the broken water main have to do with your AC? Unless they're having to re-route underground mains to accomodate the pipe work.

One possibility is reduced water pressure can result in a loss of make-up water to the cooling tower on the roof.

I believe the 2nd to last post explains the AC issue.

We are without water now. Speaking to the highest level of management we have here in the building. Asked to be let out of our lease or extreme rent concessions. Asked to be put in a hotel.

We get the "we are working hard with the city to fix the issue". As for concessions, et al. They say they are waiting for upper management to make a decision on it. How long do they have to do that?

Some people on the higher floors have been without water longer than we have now.

You should read your lease agreement before you decide to break it. Air conditioning is not a required utility in a house as opposed to heat, water and gas/electric. Now I'm not justifying what has happened to any degree and I know you are paying a premium to be in the Zenith, just want to make you aware of the language.
