I am driving from Cockeysville,MD (Baltimore Suburb) to St. Catharine's, Ontario (10 mins from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls). What is the fastest route? I would prefer not to go through lots of towns, but mainly just want the fastest route. Google maps shows 3 routes 1. via US-15 408 miles, 7hrs 11mins; 2. via US-219, 388 miles 7hrs 22mins; and 3. via PA-44 379miles, 7hrs 36mins. Does anyone know which is the fastest route? I am leaving early on a Sunday morning so I wont be contending with rush hour traffic in any city. Thank you!

I haven't tried all the routes so I don't know which is the fastest, but when I go to Buffalo I pick up US 219 off I-80 around Dubois, PA.

US 219 goes through a lot of towns in PA & NY, but you won't find a lot of traffic Sunday morning. I usually see a lot of cars and trucks with Ontario tags on the way so it seems to be a good route. I get to Buffalo that way in about 7 hours or less.

By 'The US 15 Route I assume you mean to take I-83 to Harrisburg US-15 up to where it joins I-86 (used to be US 17 I think) then up I-390 towards Rochester. We would sometimes 'cut the corner' at Geneseo and take State Route 63 to Batavia where we would pick up the Turnpike.

But it has been a few years since we've done it (And we come from Frederick so not sure of the details to get to 15 from 83 around H'burg. We usually go up the West bank of the River)

Thanks for the quick responses! It seems that 15 or 219 are the fastest...we drove to Buffalo last summer for a tournament and I'm pretty sure we took 15 and there was a lot of construction. Headed to St. Catharines, Ontario for hockey camp that starts Monday...long drive with an excited ten year old, but I have zero sense of direction, so I'm trying to figure out the fastest route that's also pretty straight forward. Thank you again!
