Thanks for all the information. I've been swamped with preparing for this move do it took a bit to check in here but I'm reading it all.
I will be living in Lutherville just north of the beltway. Sounds like the Merritt gym is a good one for me to check out. I'd live to find a place that has late hours ie to work schedule but that seems like a rarity. Second main thing for me is a good set of weights/squat rack/lifting accessories and just all around cleanliness. I'll be checking them out once I move up next month. Thanks everyone.

Bally's/LA Fitness in Towson has a free weight section; since I'm not a real man and only play on the kiddie stationary weight machines, I can't tell you what's over there. The only problem with that place is that it closes at 9P, which is ridiculous. Just two blocks down the street, however, is Anytime Fitness (24 hour gym) -- such places are small and limited in offering so you may want to visit them before signing-up.

Another thing to remember is most of these gyms give out free trials. I know Merritt does a 7-day pass. Go try it out yourself.

I will be living in Lutherville just north of the beltway. Sounds like the Merritt gym is a good one for me to check out. I'd live to find a place that has late hours ie to work schedule but that seems like a rarity. Second main thing for me is a good set of weights/squat rack/lifting accessories and just all around cleanliness. I'll be checking them out once I move up next month. Thanks everyone.
