In a few weeks I'm going to be starting a new assignment working in Glen Burnie, near Baltimore-Washington Medical Center. I'll be car commuting 3-4 days a week.
I live in Gardenville, near the intersection of Belair Rd. and Frankfort Ave. Other than trips to the airport, I'm pretty unfamiliar with the southern suburbs.
I'm not that crazy about bridges and tunnels to begin with, and with the fare increases, I'm worried about the added expense of tolls for using them. I'm a middle-aged starving student embarking on a new career, gas is expensive enough and times are tight.
Anyone have any experience with this commute, and hints on how to avoid the toll portions of the trip? I remember that they used to sell frequent commuter ticket books that lowered the per trip cost of tunnel/bridge usage. Are they still available, and worth looking into for a 3-4 day/week round trip? Thanks for your suggestions! O...

MdTA toll rates: Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, Fort McHenry Tunnel and Francis Scott Key Bridge

Never mind all that. Just get an ez-pass with the commuter package. $0.75 per trip. Driving through the city will take an extra 30-50 minutes and certainly burn that much in fuel.
