I recently relocated to Mount Vernon and it really expensive. Eddie's costs too much. My oatmeal is $8 dollars. Where can I go to buy reasonably priced food? Safeway?

I think I am going to give up my parking spot and get a parking permit. There are so many empty spaces. It does not make sense to continue paying $130 per month.

I love living here and I am looking forward to the spring. I just need to figure a way around some of these prices.

For cheap goods, definitely check out Trinacria for lunch meats and Italian stuff. There's a new grocery store near pigtown called Price Rite that has some really great deals.

Probably not the most popular answer, but I drive down to the Wal-Mart at Locust Point and try to do most of my grocery shopping there. Anything I can't get there, I'll pick up at the Fresh & Green on Charles Street or Safeway in Charles Village.

Fresh Greens has a lot more to offer but I did not see any lamb.

I hear Locust is nice. Is the rent expensive?

There are so many shops but everything is so expensive. I need to start exploring more affordable areas that are nice and easily accessible to UB. Any suggestions?

Not sure why no one mentioned Lexington Market. It is fairly close to Mt. Vernon and has great deals for fresh foods.

I'm sure I know why nobody mentioned it, but it is still a great suggestion.

I can't believe how expensive it is. My oatmeal costs 8.99. I was able to get it on sale for 3.99 in NY. I bought 2. I visited Lexington market and I did not care for it. I am going to try Safeway. Thanks.

Giant on 33rd (or 41st, take your pick) is generally a little cheaper than Safeway. But Safeway still beats Eddie$ hands down.

Catch MTA to an Aldi store. Check their website for locations.
