Hello everyone,

With a possible move to the Baltimore area this summer, I am hoping someone can help me navigate the public schools! I have lived in several states and my son has gone to several "top rated" schools. Overall, some were good and some were not. Baltimore County seems to have some of these "top rated" schools and some that appear mediocre (based on ratings). I would like no more than a 30 min commute to Owings Mills. Franklin Middle & High seem mediocre and Ridgely Middle & Towson High seem to be "top rated." Do these ratings seem accurate or am I missing something? Any other suggestions are very much appreciated!

Don't know where you looked but this is the official MSDE listing:

Default Thanks!

I had not seen the MD Report Card. Seems a little difficult to gauge anymore than minor tweaks in the numbers.

That's all we're seeing now, minor ups and downs. The days of massive improvements are over. The downfall of NCLB that mandated 100%.

We moved here 5yrs ago this summer. We are in Crofton, Anne Arundel county. Schools are top rated and I love the town. Crofton is a lot farther than you said you want to be, so look at Howard County schools. They are really good too.

Yes, I think Crofton is too far, but I will look at Howard County too. Thank you!
