Hello, I am visiting Baltimore soon for the AAM meetings and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions/advice regarding taking your light rail from/to the airport to the Days Inn Inner Harbor at 100 Hopkins Place.

It seems pretty straightforward:

https://www.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...:53AM&dirflg=r

And less of a hassle than trying to reserve a space on the shuttle vans available (which are $14 each way, but also involve a lot of sitting around due to limited scheduling).

I've been taking Chicago's public trans my whole life, so I'm comfortable in general, just figured local folks might either know of some headaches not immediately obvious, like maintenance/repair issues, etc.

thanks!

Light rail is very convenient ... it's all the way at the north end of the terminal. One headache is that the fare machine is inside the terminal just before you get to the exit, not on the platform ... buy your ticket there ($1.60).

Get off at the convention center stop and walk east on pratt st, make a left on Hopkins Pl ... can't miss the Holiday Inn.

Perfect, I figured this was likely the case. I think the AAM organizers must be assuming most attendees aren't terribly public transit savvy, so they suggest this shuttle. But getting to the airport 4 hours early sounded a bit ridiculous, so thanks!

One more tip: On your return trip make sure you get on a train that says BWI Thurgood Marshall, not Glen Burnie.

The Light Rail is your best bet from the BWI airport for sure. Whenever we use BWI, the Light Rail is the most convenient an cheapest way. It's slower than the shuttle, but for 1.60, its better than shelling out $14 for such a short distance.
