I know you all have seen this question many times.
Can you rehash some information for me, one more time.

Is a commute to Baltimore do-able from Philly should I land a job with the Federal Government?
Once I get into Penn Station in BMore how is public transportation to the government offices?
Any possible routes for MTA to the government buildings (shuttles) would be helpful.

Thanks,

Transport from penn depends where you're going.

Also, price a monthly ticket on Amtraks website. It's going to be expensive.

This really isn't possible, probably.

It really depends where you're going in the city. The train ride on the Amtrak is only 1hr and some change, on the express trains it's only 55 minutes. If you can afford, do it!

Most of the government jobs in Baltimore are out in Woodlawn (Social Security or CMMS), which is a long bus ride from the train station.

Other government jobs are with the Coast Guard (at Curtis Bay) or Army, to the east of the city. Frankly, I think you would be better off driving to all of these jobs, as the local MTA buses are not very convenient.

Commuting everyday from Philly to Baltimore is going to take a toll on your wallet and on your sanity. A multi-ride ticket PHL - BAL is going to be over $1100/mo. Also, mass transit down here in Baltimore is not nearly as convenient nor efficient as SEPTA. You're likely looking at a 1.5hour+ commute everyday. Unless you live right by 30th St and your office is near Penn Station, I would look into different options.

I recently moved to Baltimore from Center City for work and briefly considered commuting in everyday. Then I realized it wasn't worth the time/money/headache.
