My wife and I are in our 60s, still working and very active and considering a move to Baltimore, Inner Harbor area or closeby -- to be nearer our daughter in DC. DC condos are way too expensive and we like Baltimore city neighborhoods, I'm a Chicago native, miss the city life.
Any comments or suggestions on what parts of Harbor area are best, how is security at night? Little Italy seems great, also ballpark area and Visual Arts Museum area.
Do you think that area of the city will be appreciating in value in coming years???

Thanks much.

Ron

Have you visited any of the areas you mentioned? Just please do your homework. Check the crime maps, visit the area if you can, check the location of the nearest subsidized housing projects, etc.

I'd wait until they do 10 Light St into apartments.

Check out Canton, Federal Hill, Fells Point, Harbor East, and possibly Mt. Vernon as well.

Baltimore's waterfront neighborhoods remind me a lot of North Chicago. If you can afford it, I'd check out Harborview, Ritz, and Harbor East. If not, check out Federal Hill, Otterbein, Ridgely's Delight, Little Italy, Fells Point, Butchers Hill, Mt. Vernon and Locust Point.
