Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to store a kayak for three days (Monday 9/2 afternoon - Wed 9/4 morning). My "first love" & I are reuniting for the first time since 20+ years. He is moving to TX and I am going to meet him in Baltimore. We have reservations at Hotel Monaco, however, cannot find parking able to accommodate his pick up, because he is going to have the kayak on top and none of the garages have clearance for it. We're trying to find "secure" parking since he will also have two motorcycles on the back of the truck. Thank you in advance for any ideas at all . . .

There is a Balitmore Canoe and Kayak Club (GBCC), if you can figure out how to contact them, they might be able to help. It looks like there is also a kayaking club (Canton Kayak Club), but their website is not functional. You could also check with REI - there is a location in Towson. I don't think they will store it for you, but they should know of outfitters who might.

ParkingPanda.com has people offering up their own spaces as well as your regular garages. You might try there.

Thanks you guys. I have been working with Parking Panda. The problem is we want a secure place for the truck because we have our motorcycles in the back. We can't get through the entrances of the parking garages with the kayak on top . . .

There are quite a few places in the Baltimore metro area which provide storage, including storage for cars, trucks, motorhomes, boats, etc.; you just have to find them. Some of the self-storage places have vehicle storage with a live-in manager. They advertise in the paper, or try www.craigslist.com for Baltimore and look under "parking and storage". Here is one craigslist ad:

Pikesville Storage Yard Park Trucks, Trailers, RV, Boat, Container Storage, equipment, cars
Baltimore. No contracts, no deposits. Just pay and park. Gary 443-983-7663
