I'm 27 and recently moved from NYC to here...Where are some good places to meet people my age? I'm trying to prevent from going to a bar, but any suggestion is helpful.

Yay! Another New Yorker. Tell more of your friends to move here. We need some of that NY energy down here!

I think one of the more interesting aspects of baltimore is that you don't typically find one age group of people at most events. My suggestions, lame though they are, would be the Charle's Village farmers market, W 36th st in Hampden, Museums, or of course Power Plant Live if you're willing to go to a bar.

If you can't find anything, you can always take a short train ride down here to the DC area or further up into Philly for a larger scene in both cities. Best of luck

1) If you have any cool coworkers your age, I'd start with them, and possibly friends of theirs. Consider also seeking out alums from your school who live in the area (go to events like that).
2) Usual recommendations involve sports leagues in the city. Those and meetup groups are another start.
3) Join a gym, try to find a workout partner who you enjoy.
4) Take a class, whether it's recreational (yoga, painting, etc) or more formal (class at a local college for the sake of learning).
5) Pick a cause that interests you and volunteer to support it. Or it could be fun, like volunteering at a performance venue (center stage/peabody/myerhoff/etc etc)

Most of the actual friends I've made here have come from the above, and then friends of friends I met through people I met at the above.

The girl and I are both in our 20's and will be moving into Baltimore soon. Best of luck in your adventure. We both are wondering the same thing ourselves.
