This is BS dude and I am calling you out for it. Hillbilly is NOT a generalized term for country people, rural whites, alcoholics, people with beards, or anyone else with white skin you don't like. To use it like that is a SLUR, plain and simple.

Hillbillies are people from the mountains, or people who maintain roots there. I don't mind you using the term in this way, but this post ain't that. Your comment is full of stereotypes and nastiness and conveys nothing of merit. Trash talking about baseball doesn't give you the license to stereotype, slur, and demean a cultural group that has literally nothing to do with how a baseball team entertains their fans during the 7th inning stretch.

The question is: Can we discuss this like adults and figure out a way to communicate in a way that isn't patently offensive to each other?

Man please!!! If the shoe fits...you best wear it or don't wear anything at all.

"Trash talking about baseball doesn't give you the license to stereotype, slur, and demean a cultural group that has literally nothing to do with how a baseball team entertains their fans during the 7th inning stretch."

*Huh?!! What are you talking about? Everyone knows about Baltimore's Hillbilly history and culture, so stop trying to downplay it like it doesn't exist. My comments are not filled with any but truth, so stop lying to yourself about Baltimore City and its inhabitants. There are many books, sources and personal narratives of information to back up whatever I'm conveying.

Hillbillies are people from the mountains, or people who maintain roots there.

*You need to go back and read some of Maryland's and Baltimore's history bub (old Baltimore word)!!!

So, that Thank God I'm a country boy sang at Orioles games quantifies what??! Who in the hell came up with that moniker and decided that it was gonna be the Baltimore Orioles's unofficial white hillbilly anthem?

Yankee fans well they're your typical loud mouth New Yorkers which probably explains their fan base. I've been there to Yankee stadium twice as a kid, my dad took me.

I haven't been a new yorker in many years but I continue the baseball tradition with my own kids and now grandson.
NY Yankees games are so expensive its mostly a corporate crowd so I doubt you will be heckled unless you have terrible bleacher seats.

I know my history, and I know stereotypes and slurs when I read them.

Being from the mountains doesn't mean you look or act like Snuffy Smith. That is a stereotyped caricature meant to insult and demean. I flagged your post, and you are going on the "ignore list" effectively immediately.

These kind of posts are your attempts to say "look at me!" and rile people up. I am done with you and your attention seeking drivel.
