Do the residents and neighbors of Washington Village consider that area the Hood. This area is primed for gentrification. On my last two visits to the area I noticed the usual evidence of it still being the hood.

1. Illegal dirt bikes popping wheelies down the road
2. Dozens of fellas hanging out on their porch
3. Trash
4. Drug parraphanellia in the alley ways.

What say you.

Who "visits" Pigtown? Or Washington Village, or whatever you want to call it.

Hood? No. But it's borderline I think. I've been there a few times visiting people, and am always very cautious walking around out there.

A lot of folks visit a charity there called "Paul's Place. Also, there are some good little eateries and cafes on Washington Blvd. that are worth visiting. I love Sunny's Chinese takeout and Charm City Wings and Waffles.

Forgot to add: I hate the drug abuse and really classless folks who live there. At least that area isn't as bad as Sandtown.

We've had ties to Paul's Place thru a school based outreach program, I love what PP does for the community and for the volunteers.

When I grew up in MP, Pigtown was down the hill. You just didn't go down the hill.
