I have no problem at all with anything you or anyone else posts here. I am completely indifferent to your thoughts on "how I sound" -- I neither like nor dislike your comments. The problem may be that you don't like my ideas, but are unable to respond in any substantive way, and hence dwell on "how I sound."

You have a nice day, too, Hon (honestly!)

A while back, Fellini made a movie called City of Women. His modern-day successor should make a new one about Baltimore, and call it City of Savages.

This is bigger than the mayor and the commish, but SRB clearly has not taken successful steps leading up to this peak and she needs to be gone as she has no plan. As much as people malign Dixon, she with Bealefield had the most success dialing down the troubles in Baltimore; the history peaks for itself. Batts doesn't know the lay of the land here, wiped Bealefield's team (should have kept Anthony Barksdale) adn as a result floundered. Lesson: promote from within, use program that works...now it wil be even harder to get back to the levels of Dixon's tenure. Good job SRB!

She was just sworn in as president of the US Conference of Mayors. She is obviously the cream of the crop, right?

I always wondered why she didn't promote from within. Barksdale was a no brainer. She brings in an outsider who's reputation was marred with personal domestic violence allegations and was reportedly totally ineffective as the commissioner in Oakland. His tenure was short there too because he quit before he was fired. SRB has FAILED on so many levels.

Rumor is that SRB wanted a clean break from Dixon (but you know how rumors are...), unfortunately she threw the baby out with the bath water. Rank & file aren't wild about the changed command either, so Batts lost on every front here.

This is a really useful resource, thanks.

Some of the pins on the map are a little off, though. I was browsing the map and panicked because I saw a pin just south of the park on Ellwood Ave (which is only a few blocks from me) and thought to myself, "I feel like I would have known if there was a shooting there." Turns out the pin dropped on S Ellwood Ave, but the shooting actually happened on the same number block of N Ellwood Ave, which is definitely not a nice area and therefore far less surprising.

This may be an anomaly, but just a heads up to anyone looking to use this to crosscheck the pins with the actual address.
