Trouble started the Saturday of the protests when rank and file were told not to engage protestors (hence the hostilities by Camden Yards during the game) - that was not protesting - that was BS (attakcing people, destroying property). The Monday's lame actions - the not "credible threat", canceling teh transit at the Mondawmin hub that basically corralled the HS kids with a line of poorly equipped riot police (with orders not to engage - no one would have been there to engage if they could have gotten on the bus and gone home), situation blows up into a riot complete with burning and looting, then a local economy crippling curfew. Batts cannot lead and has lost control of his department (police slowdown, having to order stations to keep lobby hours - ridiculous!!!).

Frankly, the mayor should go too - she closed the rec centers when she first got in office (I said it was a bad move then, and it is a bad move now with hindsight). Grand PRix - spent $8M of road money on that track, ran for 3 of 5 years, lost money every year, would not admit it, cancelled remaining two years claming clash with conventions (2 conventions cancelled in the wake of the riots/curfew - lots of money lost in restaurant, hotel bookings etc). - Whenever you drive on a crappy road in town, think about the $8M roadwork money spent for a race we didn't want or need or attend.

Casino is a money loser (we pay for police OT and subsidize the steam trunk pipeline move - Caesars should pay for that, not the city taxpayer. Letting the riot happen thru crappy management!!! Stay in touch with teh governor that is trying to help you (Hogan had the orders ready to go Saturday due to the above mentioned stuff by Camden Yards).

Only one city agency audited - Parks and Rec, and it took 2 years, a year longer than was given. City bleeds money - where is it? What do you want money for if you don;t know where what you do have is going??? Inexcusable!

I'm pissed off. This city needs a political/administration enema.

Scapegoat. Does anyone think that Batts made any major decisions without SRB's approval?

Did anyone here know about the closing of police stations? And will anyone ever know how long they've been closing, who ordered the closings and why were they ordered? So far, the PD and SRB won't say.

I have to say that I don't like SRB. I haven't since that open meeting several years ago when a woman called her Stephanie and she went off on her like she was an indentured servant.

Lastly, my comment on how poorly Mr. Meeks was treated at the door to the police station. It seems that particular officer hasn't learned anything. With all the negativity being directed at the BCPD, I would think that the officer would have been striving to provide assistance instead of treating someone so shabbily.

I think it will be fun to see another Democrat led city go down the drain, just like Detroit. The water is swirling round the bowl.
