If you're sitting on the couch in your drawls eating potato chips and your gun is in the drawer of your nightstand upstairs, do you honestly think you will then be able to protect yourself? Do you think the robbers will let you walk upstairs while they have a gun pointed at you, and let you get you gun so it can be a fair gunfight lol

Or what about the idea that in a dark ass theater, one, you will be able to see the shooter, and two, you will be able to hit the shooter with hundreds of people running all over the place?

The odds are you will ALWAYS be caught off guard With no ability to defend yourself unless you have a gun surgically attached to your hipbone.

The only way a gun works is if you can see the threat coming in enough time to arm yourself. Which in most cases, you'd probably need 1 - 2 minutes at the shortest.

Even if you have a loaded gun on you and the person gets the drop on you, you move toward that gun, you're made. A robber is going to make sure they survive and your dead. End of story.

You always hear at the end of a shooting, "If I had a gun." Yeah, then what? You'd probably be dead too. Or shoot someone by mistake.
Your logic and statement is completely right.

People need to start looking into "r/K" selection theory and how it applies to humans.
You'll also understand how virtually all of our social ills have come about.

'K' strategy (high parental investment in offspring, stable homes, long-term pair bonding) leads to prosperity and civilization.

'r' strategy (low/no parental involvement, absent fathers, chaotic homes, rampant promiscuity with multiple partners, aka "baby-daddies") leads to social decay and a civilizational decline.

That's true but we sure have a lot of them, especially in the younger generation. Very little work ethics in this generation. They are much more aware of how to milk the system and we allow it to happen.

"lumpenproletariat"

Was it really necessary to force me to look-up a word while reading a silly CD post?

I find it interesting that you would use such a big word in attempt to elevate yourself, in putting the rest of us down, while not beginning your sentence with a capital letter.
