I don't know much about her so I wont pretend like others to the common negative statements. My one concern is that she is a politician and she is part of the "establishment". I hope she puts the city first and does not become another politician. But she certainly has the expierence but she has a tough road ahead of her. We need jobs desperatly or the city will stay the same. Increasing Jobs will decrease the crime.

I viewed Pugh as the candidate least likely to make things worse. I think she will at least be adequate. In that sense, its a big win for Baltimore.

She makes me uneasy because she's such a long-time insider and there were articles questioning the ethics some of her donations. Whenever I heard her speak she came across as sincere but that doesn't mean she is.

That said, I hope she works out.

She's more of the same. Baltimore will never get positive change unless the one party rule ends, which will never happen.

I see nothing progressive about CPugh. Another insider/puppet for the establishment, like SRB. Hope I'm wrong.

The key here is who she brings in to fill key positions such as DOT, Parks, Planning and most importantly her Chief of Staff whose role is often to be conductor this orchestra . Baltimore has suffered from poor leadership for sure.. but that coupled with empty suits, friends, and political hacks in key position is the nail in the coffin. A Mayor needs to be a leader for sure.. but needs to surround themselves with capable and competent people.

Dixon was a people person.. a constituent Mayor.. She was visible in the neighborhoods, worked on the infrastructure, and was loved by City Staff (most of them) and residents alike....up until the scandal.. Even with the scandal.. if it was just her and Pugh in the race and not the dozens of other people getting 1% 3% and 5% of the vote.. She could have easily bested Pugh. When she was Mayor, Dixon also had the able bodied Otis Rolley as her Chief of Staff and I think had he had the opportunity to stay (he left after the scandal broke) his experience would have guided her into making better selections for her top level positions. He was not a political insider but a knowledgeable professional (and former Planning Director under Omalley) which is what the City needs.. Experienced Professional Managers/Directors

I don't think Pugh will do bad.. Her experience in Annapolis could serve the City well. Yes, she is well connected but mainly with the not for profit/healthcare industry which could have its benefits especially as the City eyes the westside redevelopment for UM Hospital. Hospitals/Healthcare Industry creates jobs at all Levels which can be good for the City. She also has interest/experience in developing schools.. Her fashion school, despite the article in the Brew that indicated that the students are failing.. could align students with Planks UA should he agree to train, hire, and/or mentor students coming out of it and other Schools as part( but not entirely) of whatever "deal" he is attempting to make with the City for Port Covington.

..As long as she keeps the City in the forefront of her efforts and not in the rear.. is willing to listen and implement solid ideas and policies along making tough decisions, hire good people... the city will reward her and we all should be better off. One thing I can say about her and Dixon. I think they both genuinely love the City and are looking at what their legacy will be on and for the City. Many previous Mayors simply used it as a stepping stone. For Dixon and Pugh.. I think the City is the sunset as opposed to the dawn of their political careers and therefore legacy is important.

I think that out of the fifteen to twenty people who threw their hat in the ring for mayor, she is the worst. She tried buying votes; no other candidate tried to pull that off, not even the ex-con.

Catherine Pugh campaign's recruiting efforts questioned during Baltimore early voting - Baltimore Sun

And as if that wasn't bad enough, she tried it again on election day. Watch the video in this link.

Catherine Pugh campaign blames misunderstanding for upset Baltimore workers - Baltimore Sun

So we go from a mayor who starts a riot to a candidate who starts a riot before she even gets her party's nomination. Scum rises to the top in Baltimore.

If nothing else, this election showed ultimate showed me that Baltimore, and the state of Maryland in general, is the INTERNATIONAL headquarters for Unlce Tom Coons, clown with their Sambionic Syndrome.
