This morning, I was listening to a local radio station where the topic of discussion was about Baltimore's music scene, and how local support of Baltimore artist is not what it should be. The host expressed, "Baltimore doesn't take care of its OWN" in regards to support.

Are there any Baltimore artists/musicians who'd like speak on this?

Not having the benefit of hearing this interview.. I am curious on the genre of music that was referenced or if it was simply a blanket statement? Seems like some genres are supported more than others....Having said that, I can see where Baltimore could get lost in the shuffle with DC and Philly on either end with their own music scene.. not to mention the little town called NYC

Wait, weren't you just blasting K-swift just the other week on this forum? Seems like you need to do a little self-reflection and you'll see exactly what that radio host meant!

Mainly, R&B and Hip Hop. I've been hearing these complaints from artists for years now.

Lol! Baltimore's musical integrity and vision NEEDS a LOT of self-reflection. Just because you're from Baltimore, doesn't automatically mean I need to support your artistry. Kids run up on all day, with their little cd/demos in hand saying, "I'm a rapper from Baltimore, support me!!" Lol! I laugh and say, "that's fine that you represent your city, but are you any good?! Do you have skills? Who are your influences?!" These kids today...

Naw, it wasn't me! I've made some disparaging remarks about Baltimore's indigenous Club Music (Unruly) sound, but not directed at K-Swift (RIP) herself. I hate Baltimore Club Music, it's ignorant, stupid, violent, and nonsensical genre of dance music.

Seanlax,

I don't $upport garbage!!! Baltimore artists need to reflect on some of their atrocious bodies of work, before they try and pass it off as art per se.
