How did a property that wasn't listed, just out of nowhere appear back again? Did the buyer back out of it because the area was that bad? This property under 20K in Poppleton, any good?

Also, since you all said N Morley would have been the best pick, what does "under contract" generally mean is that it's been contracted to someone interested but that contract could fall apart? I think the one on Hollins St. went back on market perhaps because the potential buyer backed out of it.

Yes, a contract could fall apart because the bank-owner does not accept the offer, the purchaser cannot get financing, the inspection revealed things the purchaser does not want to fix, etc.

BTW, the North Poppleton house is not somewhere I would live, but it is potentially rentable.

I would scrape together 22K instead and buy 639 Willow Ave up near Cold Spring and Greenmount.
