Aren't they building up new projects in place of it?

Dovecote Cafe isn't what you're claiming it to be. A starbucks in the hood would still be better than Dovecote. Dovecote sells pricier junk than Starbucks, yet anything good are always "out of stock" and the place are run/owned? by lazy bums who seem to be in the Black Power movement aka black-centric. The area felt exclusive when inclusiveness would actually be more welcoming and or inviting especially for businesses. Never felt it in this neighborhood.

I just find it hard that a city so old would make a comeback if only the whole hood gets torn down and replaced with new. D.C.s transformation was that it is the nation's capital. Baltimore's culture is too deeply ingrained into the locals that they can't get pass the past (aka they're backwards) and it's no wonder no one really wants to move to a place STILL in transition for the last 10, 20, 30 or more years.

True gentrification would need federal funding to tear it all down and build it all up into a new shopping mall. This happened EXACTLY to Laurel Mall. Have you been there? It's booming with envy!

If people think living in 100 year old house and fixing it up for the sake of souvenir reasoning will make the city "magical" I think they're wrong. Tear it all down and rebuild.

Downtown is not as important as My Vernon and Penn Station - especially for those who commute. Why would anyone need to be downtown unless it's for work or a tourist attraction?

Dovecote Cafe is located in Reservoir Hill and is a neighborhood anchor and popular spot. The owners are approved to open a second business (restaurant) in the community. It's an amazing cafe.
Dovecote Cafe

Also the Big Jump will definitely benefit Reservoir Hill and connect it to The White L via the bike bridge project.
