What we need the Boring Company for is a real, usable, subway system like what had been originally planned for Baltimore in the 1960's, instead of the kluge of incompatible rolling stock that is the current Metro and Light Rail.

Would a high-speed rail system in the Northeast Corridor get enough time at its top speed to really take advantage of that speed if it also includes sufficient stops to be convenient enough for potential passengers to choose it over driving?

The reports I've seen indicated there is no "approval", just someone saying something on the order of "interesting concept, thanks for the input".

It would still need to get the right of way to bore through the property it transits. This would be especially true in any areas where mineral rights are considered valuable.

Sounds like he is drinking the same koolaid as the President phrases like 'optimistic approvals can be acquired quickly' seem to be extremely optimistic given the current NIMBY issues I see in any transportation project.
