I thought Baltimore loved Ray Lewis?!

That is Philly’s image and uniqueness. Baltimore needs to come up with it’s own unique icon.

The most unique individual I ever met who was from Baltimore and who, in my mind, is permanently linked to it is:

William Donald Schaefer.

My dad drove a truck for 3 decades, encountered umpteen thousand drivers and other people all across the country, and to this day maintains that he never met a person from Baltimore that he liked. That experience was gained not just by driving to Baltimore, but also from Baltimore drivers who he encountered across the country.

We lived in NC, and he still lives there with my mom. Now that I live in MD, i'm not too far off from his observation. I have met a few people from Baltimore that are personable and likable, but i've met more that are not. Crusty and gritty folks without the rust belt back-slapping camaraderie or the southern charm. Just a milquetoast kind of people in a milquetoast kind of culture.

Well, they are about to film a movie based on the documentary, 12 O'Clock Boys
in Baltimore. Maybe Meek Mills (who will star) popping a wheelie on a dirt bike in
traffic along Auchentoroly Terrace and Reisterstown Road will be the new icon.
Sheesh!!

Dirt Bikes has been known as a Baltimore thing for well over 20 years.

Actually, Philly steals from Baltimore more than there other way around. Dirk Bikes, Club Music being the most notable.

What exactly can Philly say Baltimore stole from them?

I agree with you. I can't really think of anything that Baltimore has stolen from Philly, or vice-versa. The 2 cities are very different in terms of what they are known for.

Arent Philly Rowhouses wider than Baltimore's? Its interesting that despite both being rowhouse cities.. you can show a photo of a philly block of rowhome and balitmore rowhome neighborhoods and they feel totally different.. For one, Phillys streets see way more narrower in most rowhome districts than Baltimore.. which makes the streetscape seem more cavernous
